Thought For The Day: 7.29.08

There's a nudist beach in south Orange County that has been clothing optional since the 50's. I've never been there (honestly), but I read an article in the newspaper the other day about how the city had to pass a new ordinance to make everyone put their clothes on.

Why would they make all those nice, old, peaceful, overweight naturists put their clothes on, you ask? Because it seems that some of the younger, more vital nudists are getting a little too excited about running around naked...if you catch my meaning. Some of the fellow nudists (and, apparently, more than a few neighbors), who for 50+ years didn't have a problem watching fat, leathery folks flop their parts around are suddenly appalled at the idea of the younger sunbathers doing what comes natural when you're fit, hot and naked!

Shocking!!

Since the advent of the "naturist" movement back in the black & white days the more prissy component of our society has always been mortified by nudists. The assumption being that nudity was just the first step towards out-and-out sexual deviancy. Now it turns out the nudists have rules, and they really don't want to watch these "kids" doing the dirty on their beach.

Somewhere in there is a darn fine example of irony. So of course I chose to make fun of the whole lot of 'em.

naturalists are interested in wildlifey type things. NATURISTS are interested in getting their kit off.

Ah, the ole "natural" vs "nature" argument.

Thanks for the correction nakedjuggler, you will proudly note that I have corrected my terminology. Not too proudly, of course, we wouldn't want you interfering with your juggling.
