Here, finally, is the first of the "For The Week" series that I have been drawing on my whiteboard at work. As you can tell from the date it's all the way back from May.I drew this the day after Mother's Day, it was inspired by seeing Mom on Mother's Day. I came home from Mom's a little shaken up at her condition. I thought about all she had been through recently and drew this as a way to reflect how she must've felt sometimes.
I thought it would make her laugh, and took a picture of it on my phone. She went into the hospital the next day and never recovered enough - I felt - to show it too her.
It is this 'toon that started me thinking about how I should REALLY redraw these and post them, like I have been planning for over 15 years (or longer if you count the time before computers). So in a round-a-bout way, this 'toon, and Mom who inspired it, are responsible for the blog you are reading now.
I love you Mom...and I will miss you. I hope you're happy now.
