Thought For The Week: 5.12.08

Here, finally, is the first of the "For The Week" series that I have been drawing on my whiteboard at work. As you can tell from the date it's all the way back from May.

I drew this the day after Mother's Day, it was inspired by seeing Mom on Mother's Day. I came home from Mom's a little shaken up at her condition. I thought about all she had been through recently and drew this as a way to reflect how she must've felt sometimes.

I thought it would make her laugh, and took a picture of it on my phone. She went into the hospital the next day and never recovered enough - I felt - to show it too her.

It is this 'toon that started me thinking about how I should REALLY redraw these and post them, like I have been planning for over 15 years (or longer if you count the time before computers). So in a round-a-bout way, this 'toon, and Mom who inspired it, are responsible for the blog you are reading now.

I love you Mom...and I will miss you. I hope you're happy now.
