Thought For The Week: 8.29.08

Sorry it's been a whole week since my last cartoon. Did you miss me? To thank you for your patience I have another full-color Thought For The Week for you.

This thought features the return of Toni, Shamus' girlfriend. She looks a lot different now then she used to. I'll put some of the Thought's that feature Toni of the olden' days up into the Picasa Gallery so you all can see what she used to look like. This week I decided she used to just look like a pre-op transsexual Shamus so I changed her look completely. Now she's a pretty girl.

Lucy says she looks like our little girl cat Monster.

A little history about Toni: Toni's full name is Antoinette. She was named by Judy Alvarado a very very long time ago when I first drew her. Judy had told me that Shamus needed a girlfriend and so I drew Toni.

I hope someday Judy finds these cartoons, I think she'd be tickled pink to see Shamus again. Hey, if anyone out there knows Judy Alvarado (although that's probably not her last name anymore. I'm sure she's married now), please send her the link to this sight.

I think we all believe some part of our body hates us, right?

I should probably note that this is my 25th cartoon drawn. I only need 25 to submit for publication but I am going to wait until I have 50 drawn then I'll pick the best 25 of those.

Still, this is a goal that I've achieved here tonight. I hope you enjoy this 25th cartoon.

Hooray for the USA! Michael Phelps won 8 gold medals in the Olympic games. That is awesome. It got me thinking though, I would like to achieve something no one else has ever achieved.

I don't know yet what that is, but when I do it, I will notify all of mankind so they can celebrate my victory with me. Hooray for the USA! Hooray for Michael Phelps!! Hooray for me.

August Birthdays: 8.17.08

It has occurred to me that I'm going to need to come up with quite a lot of birthday themed Thoughts if I'm to keep this up for the rest of my life. Of course, it would help if everyone in my family attempted to give birth to new children all in the same month.

I don't really care which month, just pick one and minus nine months and procreate then. Thanks. This will help a lot.

I drew this on Saturday and it's been on our fridge since then. I think it's become one of my personal favorites.

Anyway, this'll probably be the last cartoon until late next week, I'll try to have something new posted by the 15th or 16th. But, with some luck, I'll also have a link where some Shamus stuff can be purchased.

This is more a cartoon designed to speak directly to my sister Noël than anyone else. Of course, if you like salt (a little too much, like me) then this cartoon speaks to you as well.

For those of you that believe foods like eggs, turkey and rice can be consumed without salt this cartoon probably confuses you. Perhaps it hurts your brain to imagine a huge mouthful of salt. Maybe, right now, your tongue is drying out and you are suffering a powerful thirst at your most salty memories. Well, too bad.

Go get some water or something.

I'm only going to draw a few more thoughts this week, then I'll be back in two more weeks with more new material. Sorry, I felt like I should warn you, my loyal fans.

I'm going to be working full-time on the 2009 Calendar next week and I'm also going to try to get my storefront setup. I would like to sell the calendar somewhere (along with other fun things like prints, magnets, mousepads, shirts, etc.) so I need to focus on finishing the site.
